Q. Do I Need Planning Permission?
A. Not to fit an access ladder to your loft space.
Q. Are the Fire Escape Ladders approved by the
Fire Brigade?
A. Yes, the Fire Service recommend that you have
an escape plan which, in the event of a fire, a Fire Escape Ladder
would enable you to safely exit an upper floor room via a window.
Q. I'm not sure the loft hatch will be big enough
to accommodate a ladder. Would you be able to make the access hatch
larger?
A. In most cases yes. Step Up Loft Ladders always
carry out a survey before recommending what work would need to be done
and give an idea of cost.
Q. How much is a survey?
A. Absolutely free and you are under no obligation
to buy.
Q. I would like to have my loft boarded out so
that I don't have to walk on the joists. Can you do this for me?
A. Yes of course subject to survey.
Q. What do you use to board out a loft?
A. 18mm tongue & groove chipboard, which we
drill and screw in place.
Q. My stairs have a turn halfway up. Can I still
have a stairlift fitted?
A. Yes of course, we can fit a curved run stirlift.
We would need to complete a survey first to make sure your needs
are met.
Q. Are stair lifts safe?
A. The Stair lifts that we fit are all made to
British Standard Regualtions and have many safety features.Ride
Up Stairlifts only use qualified installers.
Q. Can I see some literature about the stairlift
before I decide what I want?
A. Cetainly, we install different types of stair lift
and each has it's own specifications so it makes sense to look at all
the options. A free no obligation survey will also help to ascertain
what would be best for you and your home. Just call us to arrange an
appointment.
